Students in Grades 9-12 at a school in Tamil Nadu registered for the Kalvium Coding Olympiad 2022 are eligible to participate.
Participants register with their school authorities for the Olympiad. If your school has yet to partner with Kalvium for the Olympiad, you can express interest to your school authorities.
No, Kalvium Coding Olympiad 2022 is open only for students from registered schools.
The Olympiad will consist of 2 rounds.
Round 1: This will take place in December 2022 at the school level.
Round 2: This will take place in January 2023 and will be a state final.
Round 1 is all about the participants’ programming ability, creativity, algorithmic thinking, and problem-solving skills. The challenge consists of 9 questions of different types and participants are expected to solve as many as they can in a 3-hour time frame.
Participants will also be provided with a practice challenge to get familiar with the test environment and the expected questions.
Regional winners (Across the 4 regions of Tamil Nadu, set for this competition) will proceed to Round 2 which will be an in-person round. Tentatively, it is expected to take place during the 2nd week of January 2023. The venue, date, and other details will be communicated to the Regional winners, well in advance. As for the competition, let it be a surprise for now!
The Coding Olympiad Winners bag Grand Prizes such as laptops, mobile phones, and other learning devices. They are also eligible for scholarships for their undergraduate studies at Kalvium.
Yes, all participants will be awarded a certificate of participation.
Students should have a strong understanding of skills such as problem-solving, programming ability, algorithmic thinking, and creativity.
The participants need to have a working knowledge of programming languages such as C/C++/Java/Python/Logo etc.
After registration, participants receive Olympiad guidelines from their respective school authorities. Kindly note that all participants must have a Google account to participate and access the Olympiad.
Yes, you do need a device to participate in the Olympiad on which you can run a browser (Ideally Google Chrome). The partner schools are expected to provide the required infrastructure to smoothly conduct the olympiad, however, you can reach out to your school authorities for confirmation in this regard.
Any desktop or laptop that supports a latest browser, such as Google Chrome, is sufficient for participation.
Collaborating with anyone else during the Olympiad (a peer, teacher, or invigilator) is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. This includes discussing or sharing the problem statements or solutions with others during the Rounds. Additionally, in the case of online conduct of Rounds, the student movement in front of the screen will be monitored. Any abnormal activity can lead to disqualification.
